Compelling fiction and nonfiction depend on scene-setting. This lively and supportive class will teach you to create richly-detailed scenes regardless of whether you’re working on novels, short stories, memoir, feature articles, or profiles. Participants will study published scenes and create their own during in-class assignments designed to inspire complete manuscripts. We’ll focus on characterization, dialogue, setting, sensory details and conflict so that you come away with a solid sense of how to use scenes as your building blocks for any writing project.
